Just another mini

Inspired by an episode of "Lord of the rings" novel. Treebeard is from GW: I only added some "climber plants" (tea leaves) and musks and changed a bit Pippin's position...now he's sitting on a more confortable "musk's chair" and his left foot rests on a little branch of Treebeard's head. For the other two Ents I converted old minis: the one on the right of the picture is from Grenadier. I tried to make something like a "wild Juniper". I sculpted the legs, modified the torso and added some foliage (Woodland Scenics) and "climber plants" or musks realized with tea leaves. I don't know the manufacturer of the Ent on the left of the picture (maybe an old GW treeman?). This time I tried to obtain a sort of "old mighty oak".I sculpted the legs and remoulded eyebrows and beard with tea leaves. To obtain a more natural aspect I add branches using Thyme's roots. For the foliage I cutted the tips of "railroad trees" (made by ER DEcor) and glued them on branches. For the terrain (made with Miliiput) I used several "plants" and types of grass, trying to imitate the variety of nature. The title on the wooden base is in italian(the diorama was for an italian customer) and says"The march of the Ents". Hobbits painted by my friend Matteo (Beltane)...he wanted to paint Treebeard but he had not the time, so I kindly granted him the hobbits....I don't bear him crying!!! :-) I had a lot of fun making this diorama and it also took Gold at "Grog International Painting Contest" at Lucca Games 2003!! :-) Bigger pics at www.beltane.it
