Arakan the Duelist

I wanted to do this figure in subdued tones, as I imagine any duelist that has lived for a while is going to be a rather grim fellow, or a complete flamboyant fop. I chose the former. :) The only really gregarious bits are his bright arms and armour, I imagine he would keep the tools of his trade in immaculate condition. I'm quite pleased with this figure overall, especially the face and cloak. This was my first attempt at NMM gold, and I think I'll try a more dramatic recipe next time I do it (more browns), though I ldo like the brightness here, especially on the filigree. more views here: http://www.madponies.net/new/images/fantasy/arakan.b.jpg Comments quite appreciated.

supervike
I really like subdued tones and this one shows off why. Great naturalistic style.

@gorim: actually he's wearing gloves, thats why they are different colors than the face. :) not alot of shading on them true, as I tried to do them a sort of soft kidskin, like the boots. . .there is very little topography on the sword glove sculpting.

8.5 for me.. Everything is for a 9, but the hand that holds the sword looks as if it was almost not highlighted, and the face has to different colour than the hands. Anyway the cloak is just grrrrrreat:)
