Ogre Kingdoms Maneater
Another big Ogre! I'm having fun sculpting rock bases, and I think his pose is especially natural in this position. The weight looks good on his back leg rather than a forward lean if he were mounted flat. I enjoyed working toward rich yet well worn fabrics, fitting of a desert traveller. . .I think I succeeded in that pretty well. Both the bronzes and the Ogre's sword and punch knife are done in nmm and then glazed with real metals, highlighted with metal-medium. Although that is still an experiment, I'm pretty pleased with the way his otherwsie pretty boring sword came out. I need to work on balancing the color a little better in anticipation of the metals, but I think it is effective, and can become more so. Opinions? comments in specific or in general are always appreciated. . .thanks.
