Weathertop

Front and rear views of the tower structure. The model is built from balsa and plaster and is approximately 18inches in diameter. The design is based closely on the movie and bears a resemblance to a certain (expensive) cast resin piece, but is 100% scratchbuilt. The pillars are cast in plaster from master's I made out of wood and green-stuff. The stonework is polyfilla laid over a balsawood shape and the masonry joints carved in with a scriber. The whole thing took in excess of 100 hours to produce and will eventually sit atop a hillside and marshland board I am planning. It is designed for gaming (not just display) and is pretty robust despite its detailing. Its currently sitting proudly in the window of my local GW store (Marion, South Australia)

Quite outstanding model. Not to mention Rackhams "Pillars of Sorrow", which put it in the right mood

It's mad world where something like this gets a 8.5 score. Lovely attention to detail as always Dagorlad, great weathered look and a lovely piece all round.
