Dragoneye Ogre Ravager

This was painted in bits over about 4 months... Well, started in October and then ignored until he was finished in January 2006. I reinforced the axe shaft due to the flexable D&D Miniatures plastic. Also, the original figure has these ugly sculpted-on blood drips that look really cartoonish; I cut all those off and instead painted on the blood on the axe blade, arm, and leg. The original concept art for this figure has blood streaming down his arm so I tried to duplicate it. I usually don't paint blood on figures as I think most of the time it's over the top and a bit vile, so this was an interesting experiment. The blood was a mixture of Tamiya Smoke, red paint, and brown or black ink (depending on how dark I wanted it.) I also tried to give the metal a slight rusty appearance, but I'm not sure how well that turned out (especially after being caked with blood.) My favorite of the recent four figures that I did.

It's very nice. I do like the blood effect.

Really great blood! Rest of the mini isn't to shabby either, espcially considering what you had to work with.
