Gnarr, Gnoll Champion

For some reason, since the release of Chainmail, I have really loved the various Gnoll miniatures. As a result, I picked up all the Reaper Gnolls as well. I finished this in November 2002. I had a bit of fun with the skin -- using Vallejo's "German Uniform" for the base gray/green skin, I added darker/lighter lines on the skin while highlighting. I think it shows up best on the legs. I also used thinned brown ink washes while doing the metal (taken from GW's online description on how they painted the LotR's Sauron miniature) giving the metal a better look. I'm quite happy with the figure in the end.

Frustrated Father
Don't like the color of the skin or the clothing, but the nails, hair, teeth and sword look great! Just personal preference though of course.

The hair was painted with Vallejo's Yellow Ochre, washed with a mixture of Vallejo's Mahogany Brown, brown ink, and Yellow Ochre, drybrushed up to Yellow Ochre and then individual highlights with successively lighter shades of Yellow Ochre and Vallejo's Pale Sand.
