Gibbering Mouther

This is my version of the Gibbering Mouther, as seen in the 3rd ed. Monster Manual, page 104. The original was built out of greenstuff in December 2002 and a mold was created. What you see here is a resin copy which was also painted in December 2002. Surprisingly, it came out of the mold nearly flawless. It is mounted on a GW 40 mm round base, and it is about 35 mm tall. In the end, I'm not that happy with it, but I can't put my finger on what I don't like about it. I did discover that it is really important to get a good coverage of primer on these resin figures because the paint doesn't want to stick at all!

This is cool! I think I like the colorfulness of the eyes. The fleshy look is very creepy. Another great idea!

I had the same problem with resin too. But you seem to have doe an excellent job here. The different colored ewyes are a nice touch.

I like it, but maybe the eyes are what give you that 'not quite happy with it' feeling. On eyes this large and obvious, I would expect a little more color variation in the iris. Look at the eyes of someone close to you and notice how the blue is not solid, but striated, radiating out from the pupil. It is very obvious in someone with hazel eyes, because it is really a mix of greens and browns. Hope this helps.
