Mechanicus Cultist Finallist GDUK06 better pics.
This is a repost I have pulled the other one.File size was too large also the pics weren't the best. Thanks to Krom for his help with pics. This piece was featured in a WIP Thread I did.. This was finished in time for Gamesday and I thought why not enter it and I was very happy to pick up a finallists badge with it. Unfortunately didn't get the display bases I ordered on time which meant I had to use an old trophy base which was just too big..(probably made it easier for you guys to spot..) Anyway I had a real blast doing this one and this is the first of many Mechanicus themed Models I am working on. Despite the fact forgeworld have announced they are doing the army next year..... The model is practically 100% scratch built. The only GW components used are an enginseers Backpack, A carnival of chaos guys head ,, A couple of wrench type heads off of the enginseers Axe.. A terminator iron halo and marine power axe shaft for the mechanicus symbol on the staff and two Tau flamer igniters for the spider bodies. The body is Brownstuff the cogs are watch spares the pipes copper tubing and the mechadendrites from Dragon Forge Design..(highly recommende Pewter cables) This was a really complex build and required a lot of cutting bending and repositioning to get the movement look to all the mechanical parts. I am particularly pleased with how the metallics came out as I wanted an aged outdoors feel without rusting and it turned out great.. anyway guys let me know what you think.. cheers and Happy Painting.
