Neran the Scary ..second Place bump entry Wyrd Rotten Harvest

Well hopefully these pics are a bit clearer than the ones for the competition. Had a blast painting this. It was painted for the Recent Wyrd Rotten Harvest cometition and I was chuffed to receive second place in the things that go bump in the night cateory. Suffered a bit from photoing and this one still isn't a true reflection but a lot better (note to self don't take and edit photos for competitions at 3 in the morning....) Anyway I thought I'd try a few more techniques on this model than I usually do in particular the Model's cloak screamed out (excuse the pun) For some Freehand . The Faces Idea came from a recent request by supervike on the forums for ghostly faces that came around the time I was thinking of painting this guy. I also did some different shapes with the chequer designs a particular challenge was the Swirly set on the Hat. I used a wet blending technique after the freehand to give the colour gradation on the front and back of the cloak. The front doesn't have much freehand as I decided to quarter the colours on the Dolls and felt any additional freehand would make an already busy model just a bit too much. every colour on this model has purple in the mix something I find really help's to create a real atmosphere to the piece and tie very contrasting colours together nicely. A bit of weathering with multiplealmost water mixes of dark flesh on the blades and other metal areas finished him off nicely.. A big thanks to all who voted for him in the comp and the comments received.Hope you guysenjoy him and please let me know what you think.

ah, now that is friggin amazing! the coat is as good as could be, but i must dsay, these new pics really do justice to the face! te better lighting really conveys how creepy youve made him. as for constuctice crit....i think some of the recesses (such as where the pants meet the inside of the cloak) could use some darklining/shading. nicely don though.

The front doesn't really work for me. It's a little muddled and not defined somehow. However the back is sensational. 8 for the front, 9 for the back.
