Forgeworld slann mage on Palanaquin.

This was a fun model to paint . The character of this slann sculpt is great he's sort of laying there saying .."yeah I could level your city with a thought but for now I'm just chillin man....." I tried a new way to paint theskin on him and it gave me a really rich orange red colour that has a lot more subtle highlighting than the photo seems to suggest. Basically undercoat black. Basecoat scab Red / Chaos black 50/50 first highlight Scab red then paint thinned vallejo Basic Flesh (GW elf flesh woul work) onto all raised flesh areas use skull white to pick out the very raised areas and edges of muscles etc. Now take 3 parts vallejo transparent red 2 parts transparent yellow 2 parts vallejo glaze medium and 8 parts spotlessly clean water. Thinly wash this over the whole thing avoiding pooloing of colour.keep going until your happy with the result. A light spray of dullcote really brings it to a great finish. as always all comments appreciated.

Nice colours, I have this guy myself and it's great to see a well-painted one. Cool base too :)

I love this mini. I wish I had the chance to pick one up... :/ As far as I can see your paintjob looks really good, the photos are pretty shabby though. You should post one big photo of the Slann from the front too.
