Maiden of Sigmar - painted

So I decided to paint this one up after all. Main reason was there was a local competition in which a few quite good painters were going to enter (Sven aka Avelorn amongst others). Of course I would probably have done it anyway, but it would no doubt have taken a bit more time without that deadline. As it were it took a couple of evenings and one full night but I managed to finish it on time. By then I was so tired I could hardly keep my eyes open though, having been awake for about 48 hours straight. The base was done while I was half asleep :D The competiton judging will be done on december 27th. Lately I've experimented a bit with putting some extra thought into colour schemes. This was no exception. I wanted quite a cold impression, so I tried to keep a vague but still existant blueish tint on all areas. The face, as an example, only contains very little "flesh color", but instead a mix of browns, greys, blue and white (and some red on the cheeks). All in all I'm quite happy with how it turned out. I'm curious to know what you guys and gals think, so.. comments welcome! :)

nine lives
This truly is a wonderful mini. First of all, the sculpt is really amazing. I've seen it at Fantasia, and it's so tiny and delicate and with a really good sense of the human body. You sure got a lot of talent with the greens, aswell as a keen and observant eye for how things go togheter to look natrual. ´Cause that what i like best with this mini, that she doesn't seem supernatural in any way, but rather as a common real-life woman. As for the painting. All in all, it's good. However, to me, it looks like you use white in just about every colour (right or wrong?) giving it a rather "dead" finish without any real sparkle. I would have prefered more vibrant colours. Anyway, not trying to take away any credit from the winning entry which also was a very good mini, i think you should have won with this one as the overall quality of this mini was a notch above the others. Good stuff!
