A dwarf novice-ish myself i'd advise starting with a darker color than you eventually want, then bringing lighter with dry-brushing and blending. Nice eyes - looks like a psyhco slayer to me ... lol.

Not bad for a second attempt. I'm probably on my 6th mini right now, the first three of which I simply threw into pinesol a few days later to strip and repaint again. Keep up the good work - it'll pay off with practice.
Some things, try some shading, a darker shade really watered down (wash) to give some depth to the hair and beard... and then pick up the details with dry brushing
