Roper (Ice Version)

This is a resin cast of a figure I sculpted in December 2002 and finished painted in January 2003. It was a quick paint job; probably 3 hours total. If you read the description for the Roper monster on page 156 in the 3rd edition D&D Monster Manual, it says that it's "coloration and temperature change to match the surrounding cave" and that it has bonuses to hide in stony or icy areas. It's about 50 mm from the base to the top of the head. The three white strands are brass wires that were glued in and bent after the figure was cast, as I didn't think it would be possible to have strong enough strands made of resin. The eye and strands were given a gloss coat to give them a wet look. This is the second version that I sculpted; the first one (painted as rock) is #15963.

So this is the guy that wiped out my RPG party twice. Nice to see someone gave him some life! Well done!
