Iron Painter round 3 seeing red entry.. red riding in da hood
This was my 3rd round entry for Iron painter. the theme was seeing red. I decided to go fo a scene inspired by a combination of a greeting card and a fairy tale with an extra added twist. From the announcement of the theme I had the idea of doing a minimal red entry rather than full blown in our face painting red.I first of all wanted to build up the wooded scene using natural materials greenstuf brass etch and paper leaves... I then had a search for suitable minis and came across Hasslefrees Alyx..a bit of greenstuff for the hood and a greenstuff apple basket and she was ready. the wolf is a classic citadel one and needed repositioning in a "shit I've been shot" position. Te painting consisted of painting the whole thing in grey tones and then adding subtle hints of colour to give the effect of not quite black and white..The only areas not painted grey were the reds which were kept clear and vibrant.. The idea being that your eye following the red tells the story from red herself to the mushrooms to the wolf following the track of the bullet. After seeing that you can then take your time to spot the little details on the base.. let me know what you think.
