Wyrd Miniatures The Dwead Piwate wuppwecht.......

sculpted by the multi talented Emanuele Giovagnoni I was lucky enough to get an early cast of this piece but haven't had a chance to show it until now... There is so much expression in this little sculpt that makes painting it a real pleasure and open to interpretation.. I've gone for a kind of ironic grin as he realises he may have found his little treasure chest but with the beasty in the water it's a kind of a ...aww...shit moment.. cracking sculpt that is part of the wyrd miniatures catacomb prowlers line.. The tentacles on the base are fom the wyrd sewer base accessory kit.. hope you like seeing him as much as I liked painting him...

I love this miniature sculpted by Emanuele, and you painted it very well.

Awww, he's such a cutie, and this is a terrific paint job on him. The skin is wonderful, lot of depth and interest there and it plays up the sparkle to his eyes. Love the weathering on the skull and crossbones, too. The waves and the critter make for a great base with a lot of story.

Cheers .. The pics lose a little of the red as is usual for the colour but the colours I use after lots and lots of experiments are.. basecoat Gw Scab Red, highlight first by adding P3 Skorne Red then P3 Sanguine Highlight final highlights are picked out by adding GW space wolves grey to the mix.. Then three to 4 ultra thin glazes of a 50:50 scab and blood red mix.. finally deepest shadows are glazed with thin dark angels green.... Boy it sounds complicated written down but with a little practise is relatively straightforward ..hope that helps...
