Eyeball Monster

This is based off the same sculpt as #19749, the energons. When I was sculpting it, I realized that it sort of looked like a floating eyeball with tentacles, so I decided to cast another one (the joys of resin!) and paint it up like a big blue eyeball. (And yes, my eyes are blue. I need to use someone as a model...) After a matte finish, I painted two gloss coats on the eye to give it a nice wet look. It's a quick paint job, but it gets the point across. I regret painting the tentacles grey, as they blend in with the rocks too much. I think I should have chosen a more organic color. This was painted in March, 2003.

Beautiful detailing on the eyball. I also agree about the 'tentacles' or 'nerves'; I can't help thinking a reddish-pink would've been a better choice, along with making them a little more slick (moist-looking). But I love it anyway...

BRAVO!! This is a very good job...the paint work on the iris is very good indeed. You're right about this colour of the tentacles...perhaps a glistening purple/pink fading down. The deduction of two points is for the simple paint job and because I think the creature would have looked a little better..more upright..less curved over. All in all......an EXCELLENT model. WELL DONE SIR!!
