Wild Boar

This is my daughter's third mini - the first was a snotling (very basic, no shading) the second an old Brettonian Archer (learning basic shading techniques) - both of these first two forays into mini painting are shown below the boar. The boar was learning dry brushing technique, in multiple layers, to achieve a satisfactory fur appearance - the boar is an ideal character for this. The blood on the tusk was playing with a mixture of red paint and thick PVA glue for texture. The slight gloss appearance is due to this mini being protected with Citadel Purity Seal - as this boar will eventually be the mount for an Orc Boss in my Orc/Goblins Warhammer army. ... oh, btw - my daughter is 11 years old.

Just want to thank CoolMini for having these online for so long ... its been nearly ten years and I am looking forward to coming back to mini painting as a hobby. My daughter has her 21st at the end of this year.

Nice job, especially for an eleven year old. Do I smell a future Young Blood medalist?

Not bad. I have been teaching my daughter to paint minis too. I like your idea of having her paint your armies for you. I might try that once my daughter gets better at painting. Once she gets working on them I will have more time to spend at the pub!
