Forgeworld - Chaos Brass Scorpion - WIP

A quick photo of work so far on the scorpion, arrived last tuesday, nice moulding and detail but slight mismatch of moulds cause heavy step on top surface of main body , but with alittle shaving removed most of it,due to the armour plates on back they hide any major issues. the main scheme effect was done using a combination of grey then black undercoats - then a layer of Alclad 2 Aluminium, over which i painted the black lava effect, left it for 24hrs then sprayed A single coat of the new Alclad 2 red lacquer- left it another 8 hours and used the Gunz Gold to get the metal plating as bright as possible - left it another 8 hrs then 2 coats of acryllic gloss lacquer. now got 48 hrs and i start the detailing. all joints have been pinned with 1.5mm carbon fibre rod to allow unlimited leg and claw positions all pinned at slightly differant angle and interchangeable. tail pinned using 4mm rod and 1.5mm for locator. that way it all comes to pieces for packing and storage Hope you like phot, not brilliant but i like painting not photoshop! lol Cheers for looking and all opinions and comments welcome

looks great so far! i love the pattern on the red. It almost has a feel of an antique (which is no bad thing) makes me scared to touch it from fear of it breaking... or getting angry.
