Speed Painting experiment

I haven't had a lot of time to paint the last few months, so in my slim spare time I've tried a speed painting experiment. I believe these are old Grenadier miniatures, possibly Ral Partha, and I think they were sculpted by Julie Guthrie. This was an experiment in speed painting -- not necissarily finishing the figure in the least amount of time, but more the least amount of work. (For example, I used washes that dried overnight but they didn't take me a lot of time.) I picked these figures for the speed painting experiment because they would be painted mostly in metal paints. Instead of priming the figure normally, I used some enamel "chrome" spray paint. Afterwards I did several washes of black and brown ink (with Future FP/water) allowing each coat to dry. At this point I did the base and a quick job on all the detail parts. In all, I spent about 5 hours total on the set of five -- the time I would normally paint just one figure. These were painted in April 2003.
