Better pic (I hope), so maybe I'll grab the opportunity to give a few details on the work herein. First off, to get that out of the way, Photoshop editing was limited to levels and the little bit of text. Conversion : I had bought two (2) Shanys - you kow, the limited edition you couldn't get your hands on - and, I must admit, miserably failed in my attempts to paint her. So I thought what the hell, I may as well use her kewl-looking blades. And there we are. Minor sculpting required, glue as well as possible, and we're good to go. Painting : -There are no metallics here, everything is NMM, or SENMM, which I kind of find fun and not too badly executed, but I'm definitely not a threat to Arjay yet. -The gem was done with the traditional technique, it's really easy to do and draws the eye away from less flattering areas :D There are a few others but you can't see them on the pics. -I'm very happy with the face and blending on the skirt, so smooooth. -Finally, the base was painted in faux-marble (I *hope* you noticed by yourself) following Laszlo's technique. I hope I spelled that right. Matte finish on the mini, gloss on the base. So there. I wonder how the rating will compare to the older pic... :muses:
