Lahmian Vampire

The latest addition to my Vampire Counts army. Based on the older Brtetonian Damsel with an armswap from the Dark Eldar range to create the 'black grail'. I went for white robes purley to have another go at doing translucent / wet look clothing. I hope you all like the end result.

Actualy i didn't use any washes, it was all done as a live blend from a wet pallet. The White was highlighted up form GW Rotting Flesh with the shadows lined back in with Rot flesh / Chaos Black mix thinned right down. It was a project piece done on a whim to fill in a hero slot in the Vamp' army list. The mini took about two hours to complete not including base and cat and tought me a few lessons in how (not to) go about trying to achieve this effect. The best advice i pass on would be to thin the flesh colour right down untill there's almost no pigment and build the colour back up in many very thin layers. I got too much paint on too soon and when that happens it starts to look chalky / streaky. That said, it does look a lot better in real life, satin varnish and flash photography don't mix!

i think the mini looks nice but you use too many washes, that's why it looks shiny. Using a matt varnish will help greatly

well, the colors are fine, but its looks like she is wet, with all that shine and he "make-up" seems like it has taken damage from whatever she got wet from :D
