Just another mini

Built and painted for an in store competition at Norwich - the theme was 'down but not out', with no other specifications. Crimson Fists appear rather adept at being heroically killed, so he seemed the perfect subject! The ruins are sculpted from Miliput, and the rubble is liquid greenstuff with sand and flock mixed in, as well as various other bits. I wanted to make his damaged armour a bit more interesting than the simple 'hack up with a craft knife' method from the gaming days, so thought about creating layers of metal being peeled away. This was done by cutting holes in the armour, then sculpting on the blasted areas with greenstuff. The marine himself required a lot of resculpting to achieve the right pose. I enjoyed working with metallics and having a go at the chipped armour look - it was a fun project, and the three week turnaround must be a record! Comments welcome as always, Thanks, James

fantastic pose and well made conversion. I could hope for a higher level of detail on the base. Looks like you got tired of it and hurried it finished.
