Crappy mini or not?

This is my entry into the crappy mini or not. It's one of three circa 1989 miniature called "Barbarian Berserkers" from Grenadier. For years I thought this was a terrible mini. It was one of the first ten miniatures I had ever painted -- around 1991. I had discovered Games Workshop by this point and insisted that the base fit on a 20mm square base, so I sculpted one out of epoxy. I was quite happy with it because it was the first time I had ever painted any metal as bronze. The newly repainted (April 2002) figure looks good -- so now I realize that it wasn't a crappy mini, I was just a really crappy painter...
