I know a lot of folks don't like the old CA Drones, but I just love the sculpt. So I finally found time and gave them a paintjob they deserve. To explain the presense of these strange looking models in CA, I decided to use them as Fenrig Imperative - a race that is referenced in official background several times. Based on Fenrig description, this biomechanical look (tentacles, chitinous wings + machinery) is pretty ok. Had a lot of fun painting them. After couple of failed experiments I figured this painting scheme, and the rest was pretty fast and easy. It took 19 hours all in all (experiments included).

Considering I take 19 hours to pick up a brush and stick it in paint I'm in awe of your work completed in that time. I've followed each of your fenrig posts and I couldn't see them painted any other way now. I still want to know how you painted them.
