Umber Hulk (Repost)

First thing I did was put this beast on a larger base. After drybrushing several times with a dark grey-brown, I went through with a spotter and did about four layers of spots on the lighter areas giving the appearance of a neat texture to the scales. The eyes are a deep blue with a blue/white reflection point on the edge. Painted in Jan/Feb 2002.

good look overall but I'd go back and add some shading to help distinguish the each plate from the other.

Love the paintjob realy makes the thing look alien. I would of said 10 but the front claw had to much abrupt lite brwn to bone change over. The basing work is very good though i think an alien landscape would of been a better choice or at least an underground base. The umberhulk realy reminds me of this lovecaft creature The Horror in the Museum by H. P. Lovecraft and Hazel Heald Shuffling toward him in the darkness was the gigantic, blasphemous form of a black thing not wholly ape and not wholly insect....Its forepaws were extended, with talons spread wide, and its whole body was taut with murderous malignity despite its utter lack of facial expression. www.gizmology.net/lovecraft/works/museum.htm
