Bretonnia archer - remake after years

On the left, there is the very first miniature I have ever painted. More than 10 years ago when I entered the hobby. I believe this may actually be first mini of quite many painters, because not only it was one of the models in Warhammer Fantasy Battles starter box from 5th edition, but also a sample model included in the Warhammer fantasy starting paintset that was sold few years later. That is where I got it from. In a box with nine basic paints, one brush and six of these old 6th edition bowmen. Put all these elements togather, combine it with zero painting skill and experience, spice it with a little bit of enthusiasm, and get what you see on the left side of the picture. :-) On the right, there is a "redo" that I did now, after years of painting (although quite scarse and lazy) and after developing some painting skills. At the first time I was tempted to flaunt with some heavy use of freehand (namely gold fleur de lys on his chest or maybe little lion here and there), but I decided to keep my need to boast at the bay and stick to a humble remake. :-) He is no knight after all, just simple bowman, so I thought the less will be the more. Same story was with the base. He received standard base for ordinary rank and file troops. Still better than his older brother on the left. :-) I hope you like it, if for no other reason than because of nostalgy. :-)

Hey this is awesome. I especially like what you did with the top of the clumped up arrows the original sculpt of this is quite flat and strange. The textures you have painted in are really nice. Nice to see such progress over the years :)
