Glorfindel on Horse
Poor Glorfindel. First he gets replaced by Legolas in the Ralph Bakshi LotR cartoon, and then by Arwen in the Peter Jackson version... This is the first time I've painted a horse. I tried to do a dappled grey because I thought the bright colors of the rider would work well with the tame colors on the horse. This included more experiments with mixing colored paints and metallic paints to do NMM techniques with metal paints, I think it works pretty well with the sword. I painted this in January 2004 for a local painting contest. I did a small amount of free-hand painting; I added a gold line at the tips of the clothing. I'm not brave enough to do much more than that right now. (Edit: I won first place at the local contest. There were only six entries.)
