townsfolk, barmaid

my second mini, I decided to brave flesh tones. Had to resort to scanning this one since my camera wasn't playing nice with the colours of it but the scan has come out fairly true so I'm happy enough with it to post here. I really like teh way the stoneware beer jugs have come out, I wanted to get them rustic looking. As always it looks so much better in real life. I don't really like the skirt much but I think the shirt and apron have come out looking great, comments welcomed.

Nice mini, I like the way you have shaded the apron because the white is one of the most difficult colors to shade. All other colors are well selected and painted , the skin turned out well. To reach a better vote you can add simething like a thin line near the end of the skirt or maybe some freehand on the apron or the mugs.

This is a very difficult mini due to the plainness of the textures. but you have done a creditable job on this. I believe that the scanner has not done the figure the justice it deserves. IMHO there are a few things that you could consider. On the front the face is good but needs a little strength on the lips and cheekbones and the hair needs to have the highlights raised slightly. The crest of the bosums needs to have an increased highlight. The blouse needs to have the "straining areas" highlighted a step more as do the top creases of her apron. On the rear the highlights of the skirt just need to have a slightlift where they fall over her hips & buttocks and a slightly stronger shadow in the creases at the hem. All in all this is a good job on a mini which due to it's simplicity is the more difficult. Excellent Jugs (of beer ---- Honestly you lot :D )

Saw your thread in the forums requesting comments, so here ya go. ;) This is pretty nicely done, actually. I think you did a pretty good job on the skintone, and you've got some nice shading and highlighting on the apron (white's hard to get done well, and this looks good). The hair looks a little flat, especially in comparison to the apron. It could be the fact that this was scanned, but it looks like your paints are a bit thick, too.
