Homemade Purple Worm

Here's a homemade purple worm I finished in August, 2004. I wanted to get a painted version done for Gen Con, so after making a quick mold of the four piece figure I only was able to put about 5 hours into painting the figure. (More examples here of using an airbrush for a lot of coverage.) It's a pretty big miniature, as you can see from the example 28mm Reaper figure next to it. The base is a 4" Test Cap (50 cents!) making it perfectly usable for D&D as a Gargantuan creature. I wanted a nice slimy appearance so there is a thick coat of gloss on the worm.

Very nice! I do agree with Wormskin that the teeth do look a little odd. Also, for having just emerged from the ground, he ought to have bits of dirt and stuff stuck to him. He's too clean. Love the colors, though!

!!! That is so damn cool! I'm really a great fan of your work, and now you've given life to one of my favorite monsters. The sculpt is great. It has a great sense of movement. Really menacing. My only complaint is the teeth. They look a bit... Stumpy. But that does not hold back the 10 I'm giving you. Next I want to see a Bulette, or maybe a frost worm... Or a Tarasque :D Keep it up!
