VOID Syntha Hunter Killer 2000 Grav Bike

I started this in late 2001 to enter into the New Wave miniature contest, but I didn't finish it in time for the contest, so it sat on my desk unfinished until the end of August 2002. I have always been bored by the static nature of bases, especially for hoverbikes, so I made a trip down to my friendly Radio Shack to pick up a cheap antenna which I used as the support for the hoverbike. A hole was drilled into the base of the Grav Bike and the base to lessen the distance from the ground when the antenna is not extended. (It's quite a bit taller than the unaltered Grav Bike, so I don't think it would be usable in tourney play.) The crystals were made by making cylinders out of greenstuff and then cutting hexagonal sides with a sharp knife. On retrospect, I think I should have sculpted an eroded sandstone/rocky mesa similar to what you would find in southwestern US -- it would have been much easier to paint than the crystals. I was bored with the clean look of a lot of the Syntha stuff so I painted some battle damage on the sides, but otherwise it is very similar to the standard paint job from I-Kore. Fully extended it is about two feet tall.

The antenna idea is brilliant. I am sorry but I am afraid I am going to have to steal it (I am sure I wont be the only one). Well done!
