Homemade Elder Earth Elemental

I've been sculpting this huge Earth Elemental over the past few months. The base is a three inch diameter, so that should give a hint on the size. This is a resin cast (six parts!) so I'm starting to get a better feeling on multi-part figures. This is a quick paint job for a prize in an unofficial Miniature game at GenCon. I intend on doing a more serious job on another copy, so I'd love to get ideas of things to improve on. (For one, OSL lighting on the eyes would be cool.) I like the cracks I painted on the face and I intend to do it similarily to future models. This was painted in August, 2005.

Peter, The results are fantastic! I see from your other paintwork that your second chance at painting him will be terrific. After just finishing a dragon myself I know that gigantic minis can suck up a huge amount of time to paint to a high standard, but you certainly sculpted him to a high standard! I try to include an unpainted mini standing next to large minis to show scale. Bravo!
