even tekcast, the company that appears to have supplied GW with the technology say it drops production cost by approx. 40% going off a quick skim of their very bad website.
Easiest way to find out, get the volume of a "Finecast" by dropping it in a kitchen measuring jug and fill up to litre measure with water.Well I don't know the number of minis you could cast with 2 gallons of the stuff, but at $180 you better be able to make a lot. Then again, you'd only have to make a solid 20, sold at $10 a piece, to recoup the material cost. And unless you're casting monstrous creatures, you could certainly get more than 20 minis out of 2 gallons.
Well I don't have a finecast mini at hand, so I used the AoBR captain and his sprue. A quick eyeballing came out somewhere between 10 milliliters and 0.4 ounces. If I'm correct, then you could make close to 1500 minis!?
I have to echo Tim's comment and say that it really good that a model/gaming company hold its prices in favour of its customers instead of giving in to greed.

Its just that nothing they produce attracts me.
Perhaps in the future that might change but for the moment, sorry guys no sale.
I don't understand all the intense GW hating, they paved the way for the likes of Malifaux and Warmachine success.
Whinecast?
