Ack! My eyes can't even make sense of the head (it's a Kroot and not a cannonball you say?)! Is that OSL on the gun? Where is the blue coming from?

I take back what I said. :p

new images... im taking a break with this guy now. not at all totally happy with all details, especially the osl- gave me lots of headache as the weathering products used made glacing impossible. live and learn there...

so some other projects started too, although if i prefer not to have more than one at the time. oh well.
sculpted a banner for my grave guard regiment thats next big project, as i needed something a bit flatter than the original for my freehand that ive plans for. will be challenge :)

also, built a base for a rackham master of puppets mini. the plint is a plaster copy cut at one side.

Skel, for the weathering product I believe you need to find some kind of sealer that you later can use the glacing ontop of that. But not sure how it would work out, have tested to little. But guess something needs to cover the pigments so that then you glaze they dont melt into the glazes...

the problem is the oil & alcohol based weathering stuff, after they are used its like painting acrylics on pure metal, it pools and become anything but smooth. used some matt varnish over it which somewhat saved my day from total faliure.

but a sealer for the pigments are also on my endless to-buy-list...

Ohh that list, that one is looong indeed. it always seems that it grows faster then I am able to reduce it....

Shame the oils interfered with progress on the hunchback Skel, though he looks great in that last batch of pics, clearer than with your display swirly background in place. I'd get those pics bunged up in the Gallery and see if he doesn't come out as an 8+ WIP ;)

Could you not use oil paint for your final glazes? Or perhaps after 6 months it will have dried enough to be able to use acrylics like normal?

Is that banner for the new Forgeworld lich king standard bearer model?

Cheers, B.

thanks guys

B, just found out about the forgeworld mini, might buy it but i dont know how well it will fit in with the rest of the regiment. i want it pretty, clean and in a unit very unlike the rats and orks :) and i really dont like that standard his got, pre-sculpted flags are boring. hmm.

some shots of the first freehand on the banner is comming up shortly. have to practisepractisepractise a lot with freehanding. oh well. got 6 shields to paint on after the banner ;)

yep Kretch, that looks like something that could interest me. wierd enough :) although right now im flooded with minis to paint (but who are not at this place ;) ). im a bit uncertain about the cartoony look that most of wyrd have though, and rackham too for that matter. guess thats why i havent painted many of them.

thanks English :)

Break the mould for the Rackham pieces. Many people attempt to emulate the look the original Rackham studio paintjobs had, which is not surprising given how cool they are, but I for one would like to see someone attempt a different style on them that looks equally effective, now that would be interesting....

I think you style would be great for the Dwarves of Mid-Nor, or whatever the evil Dwarves are called. But you could be the one to revolutionize the Rackham style!
