The rule book says "a player draws a card and there are not enoug miniatures or the requested zombie type".
Spawning 4 walkers is pretty clear about this. Some cases, however, get trickier.
1. A zombie needs to split for equal length paths, but no miniature is available: I interpreted that since no card was drawn, no extra turn occurred. Players choose which way the zombie goes, interpreting the abomination splitting rule as applying to any miniature that could not legally be duplicated.
2. Fatties spawn when the bank is running out of walkers: I interpreted that fattie was the "requested zombie type", and since that hadn't run out, we simply placed as many walkers as we could and stopped there (rather than giving walkers an extra turn)
3. Hasn't occurred yet, but can an "Aaaaah" search trigger an extra movement?
Am I nerfing zombies? We're figuring things out at the same time so it's not like we've been doing especially good so far (we mostly just get eaten), but I might as well know the correct way.
