yep was thinking that if nothing else other than to differentiate it from the grey fur of the skaven. What brown are you using there?

Another awesome paint up from you. I LOVE the skaven. Your giving that rat some character :) I've got a 2k army of these guys from way back still in the boxes that I'm going to paint when I'm 90.

Cheers moetle very nice of you to say so! Lee done the colour thing. The photos are pretty de saturated (damn iPhone!) but it's ticking along. The only thing really left to do other than the tubes and what not is the shield and the warp stone. Struggling with smooth shading on the orb on his back a bit had to start again to much glazing medium in the mix I think. Got to do a grungy sewer based base for this boy.

Hehe love the face makes me think he is laughing down some sewer at an intruder about to be caught in a trap!
Looking forward to the base!
thanks for the congratulations :)
The brown on the NMM is a good touch. Going to add some blue to the BTs axe now.

Hey AndyG, Did you use the same highlight for the top of this cheek bone as you did for the NMM weapon? The only reason I ask is because i am trying to work it out for my own stuff and I am always hesitant to put a pure white highlight on something that I don't imagine to be totally reflective. Thanks!

Always from black or black mixed in base to white on 90%+ of all surfaces. The only difference with metals is that the contrast is higher and the whites are more concentrated both in putting it in a smaller area and a more intense less diffuse spot

NO I will not excuse iPhone pics. Bloody insult to good workmanship!
Suck it up Andrew and use a real camera, that way 10 ball might not have to fix the pics all the time.:laugh::laugh:

Thanks for the answer! I will start slapping on more white and be less hesitant about using straight black.

I recently tried it out on my gobo and it looks great but is a real bear to photo. I've had to rejig my photo set up and camera settings to tone down the whites so they don't wash out in the photos. It's literally been 2 evenings of me trying out different set ups :excruciating:
