Ok now the Tmm Sweedish-Anglo hostilities seem to have calmed down (with the threat of chemical warfare in the form of surströmming and gratuetous use of illegal snu snu being the deciding factor) I have a PAINTING update I know very unusual for this thread Not done much on the big fella recently as I've been concentrating on the Orc shaman competition. But here we go the skin is done the mouth needs more work I think a quick coat of tamiya red to get the wet look on the tongue. Also I'm thinking a bit of spittle. Maybe a wash to give him some stubble on the chin. Also considering a tattoo for the arm. Any suggestions comments would be appreciated.

Excellent NMM! :worship!: Except the gold on his left knee could have a bit darker shadow (I'm a nitpicker ;D). Teeth need some highlighting (I guess you know that since you said his mouth needs some work)

Yeah a little darker would be good on the nmm and having a good look some of the glints highlites need more smoothing. The tat you've done looks great I really like the blue you have used looks very good. The skull and crossed cutlasses I would probably use on a more pirate type fig though I was thinking a bit more Maori type thing or a stylised chaos thingy mi bob. Just out of interest what paint colours did you use on the tattoo?

Everybody keeps asking me about this colour .

I used an airbrush colour from a german manufacturer called Schmincke. The colours name was, I think Aerocolor, Ultramarin. I sometimes use airbrush colours for such fine details as they are transparent and very thin and at the same time they are brilliant. The low viscosity is good for thin lines and it behaves almost like a wash or ink but is more intense.

Airbrush colours are also very good for darklining. (Maybe I shouldn't reveal all my well hidden painting secrets :quiet

Actually I meant the standardbearers tattoo. The one with the heart and an arrow through it saying MOM below the heart.

Yes something very basic and rudimentary like what C Spawn points out. Because everyone knows ogres are shit artists. Those colors look like they'd work great, but I'd apply a skin tone glaze over them to make them look more worn and embedded in the skin. Though TBH I don't think I'd put a tattoo on him to begin with.

Did you put another layer of shadow down on him? He looks darker to me.

His face looks great. I was wondering when you were going to show it. Are you talking about using the Tamiya red that many use for blood? just curious for my own info. Also, I think the teeth are okay without another HL, cuz it's an ogre and they have poor dental hygiene. Unless they started adding fluoride to their public water works, which last I checked hadn't occurred due to budgetary concerns and fiscal constraints from deficit spending. Hope their parliament can arrive at some agreement, but until then stick with a bleached bone or variation thereof.

Oh that skin took this to another level. I agree with BloodFather about no tattoo. I also think the gold knee caps are out of place with the rest. It may jot work with the fluff, but i would paint them a dark color like the armour. Or maybe a verdigis brass.

That dangling hand is awesome. Really puts his pose together. I like the tattoo idea. Maybe the chaos cross centered on the point his elbow? Or maybe a serial number? How about blood on the axe?

Yeah ok er dark flesh and talarn flesh mixed as base coat then a wash of dark flesh scorched brown and chaos black (v thinned) then talarn flesh dark flesh and dwarf flesh then next layer with the same but more dwarf flesh in the mix. Pure dwarf flesh as the next layer then a mix of dwarf flesh fortress grey and bleached bone then the same mix but more bleached bone and then this glaze around the underside and creases of v thinned scab red and then another glaze right in the creases of scab red and Regal blue. Then a final set of highlites first of bleached bone and then finally on the most prominent part pure skill white. Phew! This mix was one I picked up from heavy metal masterclass on giant skin this was back when white dwarf was useful to painters and not the huge pile of steaming shit it is now!

Maybe yes was thinking a chaos symbol but opinion seems divided on wether to have tattoo or not beginning to be unsure on the idea. Yes definately blood on the axe tamiya to the rescue!
