finished greatsword #2, and bases to the both guys. I feel i have to paint 6 of the guys though, as both the musician and banner carrier guy in this regiment obviously dont carry greatswords, it will become very few greatswords in the picture otherwise. started guy no3 yesterday, and while i still enjoy the little empire guys, i felt a little lack of enthusiasm, haha! happy i begun with the regulars, the command is funnier to paint!




a little bird told me that my pink horror regiment was in the current WD visions mag, if someone interested. i am not! wish i could rob them of that images, the way they robbed me that demon. lol

Didn't you get disqualified on the pink horror regiment? Seems a little insensitive for them to showcase your DQ'ed work. Maybe they could send you another box of Empire troops?

Seeing those Greatswords in all their glory compells me to bust out my metallics.......nah. But I love the choice of colors on the cloth. Do they represent a province or did you just go with it cuz it looks good?

they are stir river patrol. in the book they are more "moss green" but i like this scaly green more. i was chosing them just to be able to paint a cooler banner than just iron crosses and fireballs. painting little fishes

Yeah, yeah, the great sword is bloody brilliant as usual. But some how i am drawn to the unique paint job on the pavers...either well one or i need more sleep.lol.

I personally like how you shade that green. For some reason black used to darken Turquoise or spearmint green just looks awesome to me. Do you fine that Empire book a good source for inspiration? Besides Chaos, I think Empire would be the funnest to paint. But I am with you that rank and file can be at time a little tedious. I'll be doing some warriors of chaos soon and I am trying to find ways to keep it interesting.

Bloodfather, entering an official GW competition gives them full rights to pictures of the minis. It´s in the terms and conditions of the competition rules. Considering pr and picture rights is the only reason they hold the competitions, I find it fair enough they can use the pics in white dwarf. And besides, even if Skels is bitching a bit about anything GW-related, I don't exactly think he minds being in the mags I sure as hell know I don't mind

GW is really, really adamant about stuff like that. They want to be the Kleenex of bath tissue. They want you to call it a Warhammer, not a
miniature.

Yeah, the fluff is good, but their company politics is crap. A shame really.

Those greatswords are coming together nicely. To me they look more turquoise than green tbh, but that might just be the photo. I really dig that striped panty hose though.
