HI Skellie!!!! How have you been?

Of course the banner is out of this world awesome! I love the colors!

I love the modeling paste. Have you tried the heavy carvable/sandable paste? This is going to be another awesome base.

And hi Ritual! It's been forever! Hope you're doing well. :beerwave:

I am quite well. I have been too occupied by life and all its ups and downs, lately. Or, as Skel would probably say, I've been lazy. :giggle: I am still going, though, albeit a bit slowly. Glad to see familiar people are still around and some re-surfacing, even.

Pictish Mini Painting

I'm actually a man!
Lovelly stuff there Skell as always. will lookout for the regiment and teeny tiny etch brass marine at GD so I can stare the wee bits off the emperors children hehe.

Is that modelling paste the same stuff you add to watercolours as a filler to make 3d effects on canvas, Winsor and Newton sell it and I wondered what it was, may get some tonight before guardians of the galaxy to use as a base for my desert scene :)

Wow. Your whole style of painting just ooze gothic, skel. It's as if everything you touch just becomes archways, stained glass and church bells. When I went to Ireland I took the time to check out St. Mary's Cathedral. For some reason when I look at some of your stuff it brings me back there. It's really cool how your work manage to evoke emotion like that.

Are you still playing Necromunda? If so I can probably find some time this month for a game, if you want. :)

ischa, if you're reading this, have you had time to paint any more of the minis I gave you?

ive started some on the emperors children space marine, actually a lot more fun to paint than expected :) tested out what colors to use basically, ended up with warlock purple base, shaded with midnight blue and black blue ink (W&N) and some tweaking with smoke (vallejo glaze). gold is silver basecoat colored and shaded with smoke (+black) and a little scaly green.
have to fix some details but here is the general idea

finn, thanks :) im always into necromunda, although a have to borrow some models too and start a new gang, if you have? the following two weeks will be tough to find any time though.

That is some tasty purple you got going! I don't usually like space marine models much, but I'm really excited to see where this one goes. The little dotty highlights are really effective.

BoK, yep :) i dont like gold metal colors, they usually look too yellow-ish for my taste. and smoke have a yellow tint in it, perfect for painting gold imo

sionid; im with you there, noting is more boring than just another gw space marine. really like these guys with swords though, and as said, it was surprisingly fun to paint :)

VMC smoke is such a versatile paint. I actually use it to shade my NMM gold. Among many other things. But I am locking away that little recipe of yours for future consideration.

I think this just goes to prove that Skel is actually a wizard and paints his figures using magic.

Those purples and golds look great. Nice dark feel to the figure so far. And I'm sure you've got something neat planned for that fabric.

I actually have two different gold colours. One that is more yellow and one that is more orange. Pure gold is obviously a simple yellow colour. If there is a tint of red or orange to it it's either red gold (copper mixed into the gold at a rate of about 1:3) or brass.

Oh. I was under the impression that you had some Necromunda minis lying around... Does that mean you don't have any terrain either?

I have two "gangs" so you can obviously borrow one of those. Or you can probably take some other GW minis and fix them up. Or there are gangs available to buy from their website if you want the "real" Necromunda minis. Both my gangs are a mix of minis from different places.

Either way, I don't mind waiting as I really should focus on school stuff this month. We'll see when time allows.

And the space marine is looking cool. A lot of interesting detail, so to make the details metallic is probably a good idea.

thanks friends! :good:

a Skellets banner on a tabbard now that would be cool !
awweee, pressure is ON :) need to find some cool concept though. what i understand the emperor's children just have that bird symbol, but if i cant find something cooler then some other pattern could work. hmm :)

yeah is the 30k space marines, emperor's children paltine blades. they are the coolest sm's ive seen so far.
