okay GD stuff done, no time for another entry. so. time for something else.

meet Aberration del Toro!

just finished basic conversion, its an old Allan Carrasco sculpted body from Enigma miniatures. the head sucked though so had the change that ;) the head is confrontations Aberration Prime, big clone model. that kit included a lot of head options so stole this one. ideas on more details?

I think some really pallid flesh could suit the mini well. I suggest you make the skin almost completely white with just some shades that hint of pink and purple that there is dark blood running underneath it. Everything that's not skin can be in darker colours.

sounds like a plan finn! im thinking some rotten flesh+white flesh. problem is after i increase my brightness/contrast it usually turns out pretty dark even when its supposed to be blight, lol.
rotten flesh + dark purple feels like a winning combo for me though!

um almost forgot about this guy;

pimping my ride.
another one guy to my grot tank, unfortunately i couldnt find more, suitable grotz at home. id love another grot or two hanging after the tank. oh well :)

Nifty aberration! It's already really cool, but compositionally, it'd be neat if something was added to the back/shoulder area--jagged spines or matted hair or some kind of armor. Or maybe I'm just thinking that 'cause he reminds me a bit of this guy:

ah, he do reminds of that guy Sionid. i always like the "simplicity" of Carrascos sculpts though, so i dont want to bombard the creature with details a la gw style. :)

Grots and skaven. You have great taste skell. Those are my two favorites. Well the entire ork culture. Anyways. Can't wait to see Grots on a tank...also I might have a spare one or two if your interested.

You should step out of your comfort zone and paint something pretty! :beauty:

But, considering your big brute... If you have fine modelling chain, maybe you could add some to the mini with skulls or something else suitably gribbly attached to it? Hanging from the belt or over its shoulder, perhaps?

this is pretty to me. OoooOOooh darkness. gothgothblackblack. ;)

guess there is always room for a skull or two, unfortunately i lack of skulls in the 54mm scale. anyone know where to get decent ones?

Fair 'nuff. Excited to see what you do with him, can't help but agree that it'd be cool to see a creepy pale skintone from you :D

Nice model Skel, as for extra detail maybe add some scaring as he looks like a bada@* that may have been in or two scraps, also some spittle once painted as his face reminds me off alien

I think the Aberration would look great with a bunch spikes on his back and shoulders, some dreads and a few throphies like skulls etc. And of course he should guard a crypt entrance or gate! :)

Lovely painting as always man! Love that demon a few pages back.

i actually found a decent 54mm skull on an enigma minis base skull which i have pressmoulded with success. even a noob like me shouldnt have big problems sculpting the back of a skull or two.

Esco, one of my ideas was also a few spikes on the back. and he is guarding a gate, oc, thats kind of obvious :)
