Really exceeded the sculpt's beauty with that there paint job Andy. Blew my expectations out of the water
never wanted that figure until now. I just love the random green splashed on. What inspired that?

ive also had thoughts about making a chaos chosen with only rare and limited models, like harry, acheron on foot etc. but i havent really decided yet.

easy! Photoshop -> enhance -> adjust color -> adjust hue/saturation -> saturation +2000 :sinister:

As far as his blues, it's because he is using pure, saturated colors. For instance, instead of adding white to blue, he uses GW Temple Guard Blue. I also see pure GW Teckis Blue. And a darker blue from GW whose name escapes me. (I am guessing but from the look of the colors think I'm right).
As far as his gold shining like that, maybe Skel is right. I cannot for the life of me get my gold to shine quite As lovely, and I use the same recipe. My goal is to do this on my current project though. It has to do with placement of highlights, how much mid tone is used and all that. At least, I think so...

Lol...nah I only mention the GW brand because I've personally used a series of their blues to get a saturated, vivid look. Obviously one can do the same with any brand, but yes, mixing them will unsaturate them, thereby making them less vivid. Plus, I know Andy owns and uses a variety of Citadel paints (among others) and wanted to guess what he used.

BFK mainly old paints ice blue and regal blue and enchanted blue also some tentacle pink white and asurmen blue wash and leviathan purple wash most of the colours were indeed straight out of the bottle just lots of thin layering. I love doing blue almost as much as I hate doing red. Its easy peasy. I've primed my Gokan (Slaine) so ready to go on that.

Have a feeling homeboy is going to have the most intricate set of tattoos of everyone's version. I think that good tattoos, properly composed and realistic looking, will seal the deal on a win (though who knows what will most impress the sculptor-probably what closest fits his vision).
Regarding blues, I agree that they are most fun to paint. And I should have known that you had the old school set of blue
