Cheers guys, BAM and guys its awesome you guys feel this way. Means a lot. I am pleased to say this time the resin has set once I'm h home I will post some pics, then start sanding. Afew air bubbles but good experience and learning curve.

Who is that guy you gave your code to Zab? he's got some good stuff!

He was this really cool guy who fell under the sway of a robot witch and then painted himself into a corner like a nob - shortly after which he decoded to get back to basics and hasn't been heard from lately :p

LOLOL Seriously went on a little family vacation. I did get some snowboarding in. Pretty stoked to get my front side alley-oops working. Got some cheers from the lift line. Pretty good for only riding 1 day a year :)

That's great! I get out every Saturday cause The Agent Of Chaos has lessons. 5 years old and she is riding the lift and linking turns. I just about shit last week when she road past me and The Lady Inquisitor in the terrain park going over the whoops.

Nice! Okay update posted to my WIP.

Canny those khakis are looking spot on. Resin is a pain. If I do any bigger pours again I am going to try a one part product or something that is not epoxy.

AH the snow, Good times. Not much around here at the mo!
Beach and BBQs. Its a real treat to get out on the mountain, 1 day is a pretty sweet then you dont get tooo cocky and end up mangling yourself!

It's like -25C with wind right now and we got snow too and it's been like that for like 6 weeks none stop except only a few days, nights about -20C day like -14C so the few days it when up to -8C we are all like "hey it's warm today huh" LOL oh and it's suppose to be like that another week... It's the coldest months of Feb. I think I ever lived. We still have another 6 weeks of crap before it gets to like a decent 10C or a nice 15C.

If you don't know what is like to go outside and it's -30C and bellow well you have no idea. That is nothing for Canada, I am in the south and sometimes it can reach -42C with wind factor so up north I don't even want to think about it.

Forgot to say my point LOL I am looking forward for my next BBQ on my roof!!!!

Good times all round then!
Little update of the Turks and a Pre sand of the Resin, its so clear I think I might just sand back the black area, corners and leave the rest, a way better result than before its nice and hard this time, only disapointment is afew air bubbles on the surface of the mini and in the eyes of the skull that I didnt notice when I was checking(looking down). Hes not glues yet so any C&C welcome.

AND BAM problem solved :) I am not sure if resin is simular to rubber mold, but when I pour that I usually spend about 5 minutes lightly tapping the sides, or pounding on a lose surface to get the vibrations to get rid of your air bubbles...not sure if you tried that but if you do another resin pour its something to try. As for the mini dude, it is epic even with the air bubbles.

You can also use a jigsaw if you have one, for shaking the bubbles free. Just place the stock of the jigsaw against the mould and the vibrations will do the rest ( please note be careful of where the blade is pointing !)
Another way if the mould is small put it on top of an aquarium air pump and you have an instant shaker table

Ha thats an awesome explanation, the skull has crabs. . Alien crabs! I gave it a jiggle and got all the little ones in the resin to the surface and then set it on FIRE! worked like a charm except for the ones stuck. I think I will pick up a throw away brush and brush over the base with a little resin and pour it on angle so the bed is 90'deg to the pour not 45'deg.


Has anyone used the hurst arts rubber moulds, As my ideas get more detailed I dont want to spend heaps of time making a detailed bases when I could just pour a bunch of pieces and stick em together and mutilate them to what I want.

owww interesting, I brought some re usable silicon that you can melt down and cast with (how I did the ice shelf). I have 1kg of the stuff smallest amount I could buy. Thanks Digga. I found pouring it as thin as possible worked when making the mould to cast from.
