That dwarf is nice canny, good job. Is that a nest and eggs on top?
Yeah buddy they are a set of 3 dwarves 1 with the nest, 1 with a bird (Diggs exchange mini), and can't remember what the other one has (Semi's mini exchange). Rackham make some funny minis love their style ay.

Finished the batch of turks, I have 20 more to go buy the end of the month, 10 crawling along the ground and 10 mid stride running.

Its my brothers birthday on the 26th this is what I have so far, as afew of you know I really like arturs work and Mega's recent orc is amazign so pulling some inspiration here is my progress. 2-3 more levels of highlights and shadows are in order, going to have to change the colour of the horns of the skull to make em different. Worked hard on the mould lines and defects, I think the moulds are getting a little old for these guys but nothing a bit of filler and greenstuff can't handle.
Diggs look at your colour wheel and check out the correlation between the colours :)

Turks are looking good!

On that Ork I think a little red in the shadows is always a safe bet. I have also found that if you shade up to yellow you can through purple in teh shadows or i fyou want to get really fancy you could alternate red and blue in the shadows to create some hot and cool zones. I would highlight all the way up to pure white on his face too. Draw that focus up an all that. For the horns you can just paint teh bottom parts real dark brown and fade up to the color you already have.

Oh, do the tattoos now so you can shade them along with the skin. I think they tend to look a lot more natural that way, less "painted on."

AND for the horns and teeth what many do and it's up to you your the artist but you can draw very skinny lines as they approach the tip take the lines up lighter and lighter until pure whit by the look and size of the horns maybe 5-7 skinny lines...it just much more pronounced than just the shading highlighting...more evolved if I may use that...like an intermediate toof vs a professional toof...another thing is you can glaze a yellow green after you lay in those purple reds or on occasion I've taken a blue glaze and cooled down the whole model after your redpurples...but lemme add this is just ideas and fact is people give ideas based on their practice let me further add it doesn't need any of this your the artist you make the final call, you Def know what your doing...you always have if one or two ideas sound cool to you and you execute them then hey were glad to have shared ideas if not its still going to be a high calibre cannyjob.

Turks are coming on nicely, Mega's orc is such an inspiration and nice to see someone trying to replicate in a smaller scale. Would try adding a light tone in the red areas like a bone or other off white. Look forward to seeing what you do next to it and how you tackle the tatoo

Thanks for your input guys.
I like the plan of getting some purple-reds in the CrAcKs, Yellow-white for skin. I plan to do this once tatoos done, oh and pink-white for purple highlights (saving most of the white for face). Great input and I will try make some progress over the next few nights inbetween Turks.

Good plan for the horns and teeth BAM will have to pull out my A game for those lines!

Very good skin tones on the orc. Looks good so far. The turks also look good, especially if considering that you paint them all in assembly line manner.

Although it would be great to be a part of a project like that, I do not envy you on all the models to paint at once :)

The orc looks fantastic!

Just a little thought, I know demi mentioned Fiqopedia, I have made my orc Black and white to see whats lacking in general highlighting. I think his out stretched arm needs to be lighter on top,the head as the forcal point (which I knew about), and dull down the underside of his out stretched arm.

I think if I left the legs and feet the same tone it will have the right transition to the top. I quite like the left of the chest and top of his right arm at the mo.
