Hi,

The only problem I can find on your posts is that I checked your message for updates faster than you paint.

Keep painting.

Many thanks,
Mariano.

Hmm that sword looks pretty doughy.

How about this one:

You could probably sculpt something like that fairly easy. Or maybe Ten Ball has an extra one from his high elves?

Toooo true.

That freehand on the skirty bits and sleeves is nutso good. I'm having trouble imagining how you got it all wispy and twisty like that...take a video next time!

That LotR mini is crazy good so far. I just moved in December and it was difficult moving all those minis and paints. And I've only been in the hobby for 3 years, I can only imagine what a veteran hobbyist has to move.

some updates finally, and this time not just a weather report. Mike, i currently grow my throat bugs, hope to get maximun effect for salute! ;)

anyway. pretty happy with the progress here i really like the mini although its pretty rough sculpted at some spots. have some weathering of the armor and the sword left. honestly the sword doesnt look so bad irl but in these pictures i see that i probably have to do something about it as it drag the overall sculpt down.

my plan is to finish this and the toad for salute, but im not sure i make it as i most likely will be moving to a new flat beginning of April, and that my friends is going to be loooooooads of work....

SkellettetS, Is that a lint free paper towel? Is that what most people use? I think I need to switch.

I'll be honest here. This figure doesn't do it for me, and IMHO it doesn't deserve your talent, Skel. Just seems like a rough cast-like many LoTR minis-and is low detail. Of course, you could polish a turd and win a Golden Demon for it, but in this case you are doing justice to a challenging sculpt. God Bless you for it :)

Perhaps his sword should be bronze? That way he looks like a long dead, Ancient spirit from a very long time ago, i.e. The Bronze Age.

cheers people!

welcome to walking dead, swedish version. i was knocked in the flue starting Wednesday (stupid me still worked Thursday) together with the other family members, i cant remember when i was so sick the last time! on top of that i had stomach sickness the night Thursday to Friday and at a time there i actually thought i was going to die. seriously. luckily i was able to not infect any other with it though! anyway im slowly putting myself together but i doubt ill paint anything in 2-3 more days, my body still feels like shit.

yeah i guess i have to do something about it, im thinking more in something elegant and sharp more than plaguebearer-ish.
cant use whfb stuff though, its written in the stupid gd rules you cant mix wh and lotr bits.

i have no idea what other people use im stealing this paper from work, its fiber free paper used in clean room production (im working in a medical tech factory), a mix of cloth and paper sort of.

no problem mate :) world would be boring if we all shared the same taste! i however like this mini, and with the exception of the right arm i think its pretty good sculpted too.

Man sorry to hear about the sickness. Seems like a ton of guys on here get sick all the time. Like 2-3 times a year. Is that a lot? I don't know I haven't been sick since 2007 when I ate some bad food at a sheik's feast in Diyala, Iraq. Just seems that a CMoN membership comes with a sick bill of health :)

hope you recover and get back at it soon!!!
