Crazy good eyes, 10. I do have 1 question tho, I thought that eyes should connect to both the upper and lower eyelid like an "( )"? The only reason why I ask is that I'm working on that 1/10 firefighter's bust and I'm real nervious about getting the eyes right.

They kind of do but on the photo its appearing to have slight white showing, I think its the shine on the lower eyelid giving the impression.

Eyes look great but explain more on the coat texture, is that the model or you ? It looks immense.

coat texture? it just a dusting from above of primer, it looks like its raised but it not

Yeah, those eyes look great. The hat could use some more highlighting, but I'm sure you'll get around to that.

I meant to ask about the dusting. Is it just a high and light spray with the airbrush with some masking over the face and areas toy don't want touching ?

Gandalf it was just from spray primer no airbrush.

Blocked in a few colours. Based coated the face with VMC brown sand. Then been messing for 5 hours straight with my new scale 75 flesh colours. They take a bit of getting use to but im pleased so far with the results.

Ooh Sherlock eh? Has sort of a Jeremy Brett look going right? I think he is my favorite Sherlock. Might have to watch that series again some day. What do you have planned for his coat and hat?

Hes gone from a plain looking figure to something quiet sinister with those tones to his face. Eyebrows set it off nicely.

Dude, that shelf of yours make my palms sweaty! All those minis are just a slammed door from hitting the floor! Seriously though, I want something like that. Still four or five years until the kids start doing wood crafts at school... hmmm...

Sherlock looks awesome. What you did to his face there makes him look like a 1800s painting coming to life, awesomely creepy.

Oistene - thanks mate, that's just what I was trying for - the dark styles of 19th century oils

Been working in some glazes of yellows and blues. For painting skin I find if the upper highlights go to white, glaze them back with super thinned down yellow (vmc ice yellow is a good one) . Ive used orange in the past but looking back to my dirty harry bust I see it was too unrealistic.

Smoothed the face out and started on the tweed hat, its a very time consuming pattern. I went a bit heavy with the burnt umbar washes so its a little darker than I was aiming for but im still happy.

Yep, looks really nice. I like how the darker colors go with your olive base color. He's looking like he has been out in the rain, perfect.
