10 balls WIP

Regarding the Salute piece: You've done a few pieces with that Fantasy steel, cool gray look. I really like it. Anything special about the pallet or is it just a normal range of high contrast gray?

I'm not a great fan of these high elf minis either but the paint job you are doing makes them look good! I think the NMM gold & blue thing you've got going on really suits them. My only real reservation is with the Hero! I think you've made the best of him but he is a pretty horrible mini especially compared to how good the others now look.

If you have the time & the will I'd strongly urge you to rethink him once all the other minis in the unit are done. I think it would make a huge difference if the Hero mini had a little bit of conversion work done on him. A new (better) head could make a massive difference to that particular mini. It would probably mean starting over on a completely new Hero mini as I'm not sure if you could replace the head on the current one without ruining the paint but it could be worth a try. You'd still have the first one if all else failed and the paint job is a fine piece of work.

It's something for you to think (or wake up screaming in the middle of the night) about!

...and while youre still on it lee, i really think you should reconsider and doing a real freehand banner. :soldier:

seriously i think this will be a kickass regiment even without a new hero and a freehand banner. i wouldnt redo anything.

Cheers all :)

Bloodfather - its just highliighted codex grey with browns & blues added in places.

Sproket - Your right of course, but I just havent got the love for the mini to restart (should of taken my own advice and picked minis that inspire!)
Past the point of no return now so as Skele says im just going to finish and learn from what of done on the next projects. :)

Fair enough! I'm impressed that you've done such a cracking job on something you're less than enthusiastic about.

picked up this display thingy at a charity shop, £1. Added it to my broom closet (art studio) wall to display my favorite minis. :)

Im going loopy painting NMM so with just one more elf to go ive been relaxing over the last few nights painting grown up things :)
Skin is a base coat of brown sand. Really worked hard on the eyes as they are the most important part of the face. Happy for once with the result.

Looking great mate! You need a brake from nmm for sure.

this kinda made me laugh a bit with his expression he's going " Right which joker replaced the top of my head with a Lego brick?!?"
