Cannon>> in the interest of the fact that some people paint slower then others, then I would say yes,.. you may "pre-prep" the model in the meantime. But nothing past the primer stage. We work on the honor system here, and trust that what everyone presents was done in the time-frame alloted. And that what is presented wasn't something that they had already painted and were able to take 6 months on to complete. That being said, its usually considered good form to post a pic of your starting point on the first day of the contest. And regular updates are always appreciated,.. if for no other reason, then to get some decent C&C during your process.

If I can I would like to paint a great white shark. I have a leftover head from a model I made and a nice idea for it.
But on the other it could be discussed if sharks are monsters

If not I'll do the Minotaur.

Well that helps. I have two monster kits, one with 63 parts - the other with 87. It could take a month just to remove the mold lines.

Got my stuff ready to prep. Freehanding a Day of the dead skull mounted on a brass rod with a nice African black wood plinth. The maple burl was too light and too big.

This will be painted in acrylics and (water-based) oils so don't know how it will go. Smaller figs painted with the oils haven't turned out too bad (by my standards).

so, I picked up a "God" model (mostly since everyone else seems to be going the monster route). Hopefully it shows up in time. If not, I still have a minotaur as a fall-back piece.

Yeah,.. well,. hopefully I can do the model some justice. I'll probably never get it that good looking, but hopefully something sort of close to it.
