Trystan, I did consider having a scar or a burn across her cheekbone, but I got kinda attached to the weird contrast of torn metal and smooth skin. But you're right, it really doesn't make any sense unless she scavenged the armor.

Started on 2/3rds of the Devil's Shadow Mutineers tonght. PP doesn't usually make my favorite miniatures, but these guys have so much character. I'm planning on making them a nifty piratey display base, but I'm not sure where to begin...time for an inspiration hunt.

The cyborg lady is excellent very nice work indeed. The contrasts are really good and deep.

Hi,

Great work on the bust!! A work to be proud indeed. I really like how you have worked with the color.

But don't remain anchored to the past ... The two new miniatures you just start, where they come from? Both of them are beautiful but the first one is my prefered, full of personality. The beginning of the paint work on them is good (great idea the white face), promising an awesome miniatures when you finish to paint them.

Many thanks,
Mariano.

Nice job on those tiny faces. Great attention to detail! I look forward to seeing what you do with them.

Thank you! They're from Privateer Press, part of the Warmachine/Hordes tabletop business. It's a three-person named unit, Mar, Zira, and Morland (who is a dude and hasn't been pictured yet). Maybe it's because of her manic grin, but painting Mar's face white seemed like a no-brainer? She's got a teeny tiny heart under her eye that you can't see well in that photo.

I'm guessing she's not Zab's type!

You could always check out Black Sails for some salty, piratey insperation. The show had a great wardrobe

Blarg! blarg. blarg. (sounds heard under Zab's painting desk from a fetal position type lump rocking back and forth)

Aw, is somebody afraid of clowns? Or just murderous redheads with pointy things? Either way, pretty reasonable...

Mmm, good idea. I'm liking that layered, eclectic, multi-patterned look.

Some work on Zira:

Love that pattern and palette. I can't believe these are PP they are usually so blah. Maybe its just your paintjob though :)

She looks gorgeous! That's really hard to say on PP mini's. No offence to the fans of said mini's. I'm with Zab, It must be the painter.

I agree with this. Damn glad you are painting up minis for us to drool over again. This one really looks tough with a bit swagger to her.

Thanks all! I'm having a lot of fun with them. The base, not so much. I spent the first bit of Thursday making it and the last bit of Thursday realizing that I didn't like what I'd made. Back to the drawing board...

Had my first day at DieCon today. The vast majority of it is gaming, not painting-focused, buuut I found a bunch of old RPG books for $6 a pop (I like reading 'em), I got to meet up with Khonner and talk painting, and there's a good chance that I'll be running the painting competition and paint-and-take next year, as well as any classes I might want to teach. Which is kinda crazy cool. Come to DieCon 2016 and subject yourselves to my judgement! :D

I too have those three and yes the character they have just radiates from them.
Now someone's just mentioned a Boardwalk, which set my mind into motion why not a wide(-ish) gangplank with the two girls walking down and the male at the top?.

Just a suggestion.
