i thought it was probably something like that.
As Lee says I reckon I could pick your mini's out from a line upon 9 times out of 10. your flesh work is beautiful and really reminds me of Frank Frazetta and the old 80's sword and sorcery films (which is a very good thing) loads of life and colour.

This is a really interesting line of thinking, Andy. I'll probably try to give some time to my own judgement of 'your style' (because you deserve compliments!), but I think you could also take your present sense of alienation from your work as an opportunity. Lee probably has a great idea when he suggests that you create a work that forces you to make decisions and devise practically innovative solutions to your technical problems, rather than simply executing the technical process you perhaps feel has become stale for you. I don't think you'd necessarily need to go as far outside your norms as 10-Ball's snail rider, but there is absolutely no arguing with the stupendous results of that 'extreme' stylistic reach.
Take all this with a grain of salt- I'm looking up at you guys from a considerable distance (and you and the others you mentioned are a tremendous inspiration to me). Nevertheless, I suspect that answering the questions you're posing will prove a large step toward the artist you wish to be. I certainly look forward to your efforts, as well as your personal reflections upon them.

ARE YOU HAPPY PAINTING?
if the answer is YES then what the Bolocking Blue Blazes are you worrying about?

^^^^this exactly! I always get excited to see you start a new mini. And if you think about it, even someone with a very distinct style like Skelettet painted that senmm dread.

Well just to add to what Dragonsreach and the other mates said... Style will come with time, and if not leave it at the next corner of your painting path....
More important is that you have fun painting and that you keep on insisting in your learning curve, then maybe suddenly you will discover your own style. But for this issue, peeps around here have pointed to where it may be. Or maybe you will become of the chameleon type and can do whatever you please

Don't dare to do it, once you start you cannot stop... I have a couple of plastic boxes topped with minis to paint!!! Please just buy what you are going to paint or you will suffer every painter's pain!! xD

Cheers guys got my mojo back with this one hit a real bump a couple of weeks back. No update as I've been working very late tonight but a quick photo instead of what I've got lined up to take with me to Salute. Thinking of doing a couple more of marines to bulk out the blood Angels 40k squad and depending on how it goes a couple of other minis I've got in my pile (bgcdazzler buy more minis you know it makes sense!)
