Lee, so it does.
Damn it's been so long since I saw that movie that I'd forgotten about him.

Many Thanks.

For dramatic scarring you could look up "keloid scars" on Google. Some images may be disturbing, but worthwhile references I think.

Looks like a great work already!! Interested in how you manage it, since I have lots of things to learn with this particular theme (skin)

P.S. I am SO pleased to see you here! *pounce*
My day's just gotten better for having been pounced on by a young Lady.

I've written before about the base tone I normally use for skin being VMC Brown Sand, well in this instance I added a tiny potion of VMC Burnt Umber to darken the overall skin cast so it would look a touch more wind and sea touched.
Shadows are worked with burnt umber added to the basetone. Highlights initially with Brown Sand then Brown Sand and Iraqi sand mix.
I'vs used glazes of VMC Red, Burnt Cadmium Red into the creases, Two brush technique as well as adding a touch of VMC Field Blue to the base coat as a beard shadow.
A mix of basecoat and Yellow Green glazed around the eyes to darken, then glazes of VGC Cobra Brown carefully applied to give a more tanned appearance.

Now my problem is I'm doing all this 'On the Fly" so I'm having to rely on memory for writing out.
..........and I'm certainly no Ben Komets to do a video.

So far pretty good, Sakura has a great deal of fine detail in the cross belts, which is coming along nicely.
Corsair is the next one to get hit up.

The guy I've been painting them up for has just got his Corsair and passed it on to me. Looks like a fun model. I won't be getting anywhere near your level of detail, so it'll be cool to see these minis with a proper paintjob.

Pics when you're done please. :)

Pirate head turned out very nicely. I really like the idea of just painting a head actually, I should see if I can track a few down.
Looking forward to your sakana and corsair.

If you want I can source a few when I'm at Salute.
Mitch's Military Miniatures should be there and they often have some spares.

Goes for Shelagh as well.

Well I've just done something I would never normally do, but I've just bought a mini from eBay from a "Pro-Painter", purely to strip it and put it out of its misery.
A limited Edition Cmon/Dark age figure that looks like it was painted with a Qtip, deepest apologies for this picture.
