Great stuff so far Cassar! The masking has worked well so far, though obviously things will look even better once the edges are just tidied up a little.

Indeed! Tedious masking always pays off afterwards. Good too see you painting again as well. Great work so far.
And if the paint is flaking off too easily, you can always give the model a light varnish coat between highlights.

Plan to airbrush some age onto it once im happy with the detailing that should cover up any over spray and wobbly paint. Will also varnish cheers Meph

That gold is awesome Cassar. For the cloak, I like the first illustration with the creamy white inside and red outside.

thx Krule, (some faffin involved in the gold). tried to touch up the hands...all went rather badly, resulted in bad temper and broken fingers took me a phenominally long time to sort out, i did however beat it into submission eventually. Im bulding a terminator helmet for him too.....hopefully wont look like Mephs bloodangels first go..what was it you said Meph "looks like a fat kid with freckles" lol.

Great to see one of my first great inspirations and hobby idols back in the game!

It all looks awesome! I'm only wondering about the blue - which pic is accurate? Some of them are quite pale, and that kinda makes it look a tad space wolf-ey to me. Might just be my phone though :p

nice to be back mate :) nope your phones fine there are two shades of blue, the dark ultra smurf blue and a waterd down pale almost spacewolfy blue. (just my own personal taste is all, the contrast pleases my eye)

Delightful work bud!!! Again the painting has a beautiful glow to it bought on by good layering of shades/ highlights and fantastik smoothness along with the addition of those micro stone gems very clever and wonderfully executed ,also am loving inside the power hand the hazard chevrons great work there as well.

thx everyone :) those gems are real you can get different sizes colours etc from ebay couple of quid got me 2 thou of the little buggers...im of to vagazel something else lol im currently onto the cloak and loin cloth i decided to go with scab red and gold, have had a couple of fubars but seem to be on the downhill section now will post some images later. I did the JCB palms as a bit of a hat tip to the old spacehulk game as i remember they had something simular on their powerfists.

im not sure about the gold faff, might be better just plain with the gold trim on the edge..opinions please.

In this case I'd leave the 'faff' on. Being such a large expanse of material on an already large model I think it'd look a little too plain to leave it just with the trim.
